If you read on down the article you find:
"Merit must trump all other considerations".
Can Nobels peaceprice be a good merit?

Further down we read that the group
urge for a change; the next Secretary should
serve one term only, and for seven years.
Until now a term has been five years, with
the possibility of staying a second term.

For me all this fits in with Bible prophecy:
The Antichrist will reign the World out of a
World covering organisation. He will
set up a Peace Accord with many, including
Israel, and for "a week" - seven years.
The book of Daniel 9:27;
"And he shall confirm the covenant with
many for one week"..

Daniel 8:25 states (KJV):
"“And through his policy also he shall cause
craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall
magnify himself in his heart, and by peace
shall destroy many: he shall also stand up
against the Prince of princes; but he shall be
broken without hand.” 
     
Can it be that we are soon entering this last
seven-year period, in the Bible known as
"Jacobs Trouble"? Will it start by the January
2017 elect of a new UN secretary, or will it
happen later?
